The American Folk Festival on the Bangor Waterfront was more than anything else an excuse for people to get together, listen to good music, dance until the music stopped, eat good food from various cuisines and enjoy the crafts and the folk art that different artists presented at the Festival Market Place.
From all the performers, I especially liked Chino Nunez & Friends Orchestra. I listened to their music on Friday night and then I took a salsa class on Saturday and danced on Chino Nunez & Friends Orchestra’s music during their second concert. In the evening I couldn’t go home without going to their third concert. I was amazed how much people loved them and how appreciated their music was. I admit I knew nothing about them before Friday night. I decided to go to the festival just because one of my friends invited me, promising that we’ll have so much fun. And indeed we had. Chino Nunez is amazing. I don’t thing I’ll ever get rid of his music. Due to him and his orchestra I started to love Salsa more than any other Latin rhythm. After Chino Nunez & Friends Orchestra’s second concert, on Saturday afternoon, my friend Kat introduced me to Chino Nunez. He is incredible nice and cool, and surprisingly he talked to us in a very natural way, without showing off.
At the Market Place I had the chance to talk to some of the local artists about the difficulties and the rewards of their work. Among all Jim Leach (I’ve put his picture in the gallery!), from Bangor, Maine impressed me. His beautiful blue eyes were more alive than ever when he started talking about his work. It’s fascinating meeting people who are combining work and a passion into something truly beautiful.
Apart from spending time with my friends, meeting new people, enjoying the entertainment, the American Folk festival offered me a new opportunity to discover another face of the USA. More I find out and learn, more I like it, and more I’d like to know and experience.

[Just kiddin'!]
(In afara de Africa…) Brazilia.
Ce n-as da sa fiu si eu unde esti tu acum. Dar asta e, nu putem sa fim in doua locuri in acelasi timp!

(sau ny, nu mai stiu exact unde vor sa faca nunta); si nu duc doua zboruri transoceanice in acelasi an, precum nici cheltuielile aferente:) asa ca, uite, vizitez continentul tau mai intai:)

Have a safe flight! I think you’ll have so much fun! As I said, I wish I were there too. And of course, I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures.
Oricum distractie placuta!!!!!!!!!!!!
